Psychologists have been at the forefront of treating servicemembers and veterans, alike, for many years. Kevin Yeates, PhD, provides insight on what is it like being a military psychologist and the role health service psychology plays in the military.
Dr. Yeates completed his PhD in Counseling Psychology from the University of Iowa and his doctoral internship at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland. He was then assigned to Wright Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio where served as a faculty member for the doctoral internship program, the Officer in Charge of the Primary Care Behavioral Health Clinic and the Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Treatment Program Manager (ADAPTPM). He is currently serving as a first year Clinical Neuropsychology Fellow at Brooke Army Medical Center. His clinical and research interests include suicide prevention and military neuropsychology.

Samuel Lustgarten, PhD, is a licensed psychologist and member of the National Register of Health Service Psychologists.
