What are the differences between the National Register Practice Academy and the Health Service Psychologist credential?

The National Register Practice Academy is designed to enrich clinical practice across behavioral healthcare professions. Practice Academy members have access to all National Register education and professional development products and partnership programs. Practice Academy members do not bank credentials with the National Register and thus do not have access to licensure mobility or other verifications to healthcare organizations.

The Health Service Psychologist (HSP) credential, offered by the National Register since 1974, is a distinction for doctoral-level psychologists. Approval requires submission and evaluation of education and training credentials, a thorough background examination, and verification of an active, unrestricted psychology license. HSP credential holders have access to all National Register benefits.

Questions?

No. The National Register’s licensure mobility program is based on primary source documentation of education and training and is only available with the National Register HSP credential. Providing documentation of education and training is not a part of National Register Practice Academy enrollment and therefore we cannot verify any credentials to licensing boards or other healthcare organizations.
