The National Register of Health Service Psychologists is the largest credentialing organization for psychologists. Founded in 1974, the National Register identifies qualified Health Service Psychologists (HSPs) and provides a variety of benefits including licensure mobility. The National Register currently credentials more than 10,000 Health Service Psychologists and has banked credentials on behalf of more than 2,500 psychology doctoral students and postdoctoral trainees.
Why Bank your Credentials with the National Register?
Psychologists, postdoctoral trainees, and doctoral students bank their credentials with the National Register to avoid difficulties associated with locating supervisors and verifying education and training later in their careers. Once documentation of education, internship and postdoctoral experience is reviewed and approved, the credentials portfolio is banked with the National Register and available to HSPs throughout their careers.
The National Register verifies these banked credentials to expedite licensure mobility, streamline certification with healthcare organizations and hospitals, and verify qualifications to potential employers. Once credentialed, HSPs are also featured on the consumer website FindaPsychologist.org and have access to the National Register's free continuing education program. Apply for a Credentialing Scholarship: Doctoral Students, Postdoctoral Trainees and Early Career Psychologists
The National Register makes available credentialing scholarships for doctoral students, postdoctoral trainees, and early career psychologists. These scholarships, supported by donations to the National Register, help new psychologists bank their credentials by covering the cost of the application fee.
