Registrant Spotlight: Mary K. Alvord, PhD

Mary K. Alvord, PhD, National Register member since 1982 and recent presenter for the National Register’s clinical webinar series, has recently been featured in a number of articles to discuss the impact of COVID-19 on clinical psychology practice and on patients—and to contribute expertise beyond the pandemic as well. Dr. Alvord is a psychologist with more than 35 years of clinical experience and is director of Alvord, Baker & Associates, LLC in Maryland. She is past president of the APA Division Society for Media Psychology and Technology (2013), and has been active in promoting telehealth in her group practice and through workshops. She recently founded a non-profit, Resilience Across Borders, Inc., with a mission to promote mental health and reduce barriers. She is co-author of Conquer Negative Thinking for Teens, Resilience-Builder Program, and digital recordings on relaxation and wellness.
