Ashley Bittle, PsyD, Elected to National Register of Health Service Psychologists Board of Directors

The National Register Board of Directors elected Ashley Bittle, LCSW, PsyD, ABPP, effective January 1, 2023. 

In response to her election, Dr. Bittle remarked, “I’m honored and thrilled to be elected and serve on the National Register Board of Directors. The opportunity to represent the Board of Directors and the field of psychology is an absolute pleasure and experience that is commensurate with my professional roles leading up to this selection. I look forward to joining and continuing to provide collegial, collaborative, and progressive advancements in the field.” 

Tiffany N. Brown, PhD, Chair of the National Register Board of Directors, commented on the election: “On behalf of the Board of Directors, congratulations to Dr. Bittle. The Board looks forward to working with our newly elected members to strengthen the identity of the National Register as the professional home for health service psychologists.” 

Dr. Ashley Bittle’s career spans two decades in clinical social work and psychology with experience in a variety of settings with diverse populations. She’s board certified in clinical psychology (ABCP) and has held clinical, supervisory, and leadership roles in the federal, state, and public sector. Dr. Bittle is currently on the Cheyenne and Northern Colorado VA Healthcare System leadership team as Associate Chief of Mental Health for Psychosocial Recovery Services, a programming section that serves the seriously and persistently mentally ill population. Throughout her career, Dr. Bittle has dedicated herself to advocacy for high-risk underserved populations and understanding development across the lifespan to become a specialist in trauma-informed mental health, most notably with children and Veterans. Dr. Bittle is a member of the APA Division 18: Psychologists in Public Service. Dr. Bittle has participated in advocacy on Capitol Hill, informing members of Congress about key issues impacting the field of psychology. Dr. Bittle embraces a holistic approach in her professional career as a certified yoga instructor and nutrition coach/educator/practitioner. 

Dr. Bittle has been credentialed by the National Register since 2009. 

About the National Register of Health Service Psychologists 

The National Register of Health Service Psychologists was established in 1974 and is the largest credentialing organization for psychologists and psychology doctoral students. We are an independent nonprofit organization dedicated to improving healthcare by identifying psychologists who meet specific education and training standards, and by verifying these professionals to consumers, healthcare organizations, and regulatory bodies. The National Register currently credentials 10,000 Health Service Psychologists and has approximately 5,000 psychology doctoral student and postdoctoral trainee members of its Associate Program.
