Upon receiving the award, Madeleine said, “I am thrilled to receive this award, as it affirms the value of community-centered research in advancing equitable, high-quality care for all populations. It gives me hope to see our field investing in research grounded in real-world, community contexts.”

Madeleine Miller, MA, is a 4th year doctoral student enrolled in the Health Psychology and Clinical Science Doctoral Program at the Graduate Center of the City University of New York. Her program of research is centered on improving access to evidence-based care for historically underserved populations through community-engaged implementation science.

In 2022, she joined the Gender Based Violence Lab, where her research shifted towards examining the effects of chronic stress on marginalized populations and the implementation of evidence-based interventions in community settings.

To date, Madeleine has published 13 peer-reviewed journal articles, including three as first author, and has presented her work at national and international conferences, with a growing focus on addressing health disparities. She has secured both internal and external funding to support a pilot implementation study of a dialectical behavior therapy skills group delivered within a community-based organization for Black transgender women and other sexual and gender minorities of color.

Madeleine has been banking credentials through the National Register since 2025.
