Dr. Jared Boot-Haury Named 2025 Judy E. Hall Early Career Psychologist Award Winner

The National Register of Health Service Psychologists is proud to present the 2025 Judy E. Hall Early Career Psychologist Award to Dr. Jared Boot-Haury. 

This award, named in honor of the National Register’s second Executive Officer, is presented annually to a National Register credentialed psychologist with fewer than 10 years of postdoctoral experience.   

The National Register’s Awards Committee honors the recipient of this award with a $5,000 stipend based on contributions to foster innovation in psychological practice, strengthen community well-being, advance advocacy efforts, or enhance the contributions of professional associations in health care.  

Upon receiving the award, Dr. Boot-Haury said, “Receiving the Judy E. Hall Early Career Psychologist Award is a profound honor that highlights the urgency and impact of serving communities I am privileged to support. My work has focused on advancing equitable, evidence-informed psychological care for LGBTQ+ and gender diverse individuals through clinical practice, research, education, and advocacy. This recognition affirms the importance of expanding access, reducing health disparities, and promoting culturally responsive care for those who have been historically pushed to the margins. I am deeply grateful to the National Register for uplifting early career psychologists dedicated to transforming health care through innovation, scholarly leadership, and social justice.”   

Jared Boot-Haury, PsyD, MBA, ABPP (they/them), is a board-certified and licensed clinical psychologist and an American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors and Therapists (AASECT) Certified Sex Therapist and Certified Sex Therapist Supervisor with specialized expertise in LGBTQ+ health. They earned a PsyD in Clinical Psychology from the Michigan School of Psychology, followed by an APA-accredited internship at the Bowling Green State University Counseling Center and an APA-accredited postdoctoral fellowship at the San Francisco VA Health Care System focused on LGBTQ+ interprofessional healthcare. 

Dr. Boot-Haury’s clinical, research, and advocacy work centers on expanding access to culturally responsive mental health services for minoritized groups, including transgender and gender diverse, asexual, neurodivergent, and consensually non-monogamous communities. Their scholarship has examined minority stress, resilience, and best practices in culturally responsive clinical care, contributing to interventions, training models, and policy initiatives that improve health equity. 

Dr. Boot-Haury holds multiple national leadership roles within APA Division 44 (Society for the Psychology of Sexual Orientation and Gender Diversity), including serving as Co-Chair of the Public Policy Committee and Co-Chair of the Committee on Consensual Non-Monogamy, where they support evidence-informed advocacy and professional education. They are committed to advancing equitable healthcare through integrated behavioral health, professional training, and policy engagement that strengthens community well-being. 

Dr. Boot-Haury has been credentialed by the National Register since 2024.
