Peter Currie PhD

Congratulations to one of our Registrants, Peter Currie, PhD, on his appointment senior vice president of program strategy and innovation at the California Health Care Foundation.

Since 1990 Dr. Currie established regional group practices to provide behavioral health services for physician group practices and health plans in Southern California.

In 2009 Dr. Currie then became the first Director of Behavioral Health for IEHP and has worked to infuse behavioral health services within the health plan.  Over the past seven years Dr. Currie has utilized behavioral health integration within the health plan as a platform for applying population health principals to improve outcomes for Medicaid and Medicare members. In addition to directing behavioral health, Dr. Currie became responsible for IEHP’s practice transformation initiatives as Senior Director of Clinical Transformation and Integration in 2015.

Additionally, as a Fellow in the California HealthCare Foundation (CHCF) Health Care Leadership Program, Dr. Currie worked to establish the Inland Empire Autism Spectrum Disorder Collaborative which he initiated in July of 2012.  Under Dr. Currie’s leadership the Collaborative launched a new Autism Assessment Center of Excellence (AACE) in 2015 to serve children and families in the Inland Empire.  Dr. Currie continues to develop innovative population health initiatives to leveraging behavioral health and physical health integration to meet the complex care needs of the underserved in California.

Dr. Currie has been credentialed by the National Register since 1985.
