Verifications to licensing boards
The National Register streamlines licensure mobility by verifying education and training on behalf of Registrants. The state/provincial/territorial requirements may still include taking an oral or jurisprudence exam, but the endorsement of credentials saves time and effort, and reduces frustration by eliminating the need to order transcripts and locate past training supervisors.

Verifications to health care organizations
Health care organizations use the National Register publication as a mechanism to verify that a psychologist has met the education and training requirements necessary to qualify for reimbursement or to be included in a provider network. Health care organizations query the Find a Psychologist database and subscribe to the National Register Pro. Find a Psychologist and National Register Pro are updated nightly. Increased accuracy, reliability, and 24/7 access enable subscribing organizations to conform to NCQA credentials verification standards. Large organizations, such as Magellan, use National Register Pro to verify thousands of Registrant credentials. Smaller organizations, such as Nursing Home Psychological Services, use Find a Psychologist to build efficient local networks populated by qualified psychologists.
