Staff Psychologist

The Alvin J. Siteman Cancer Center at Barnes-Jewish Hospital and Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis has an immediate opening for a staff psychologist for the Siteman Counseling Service. The eligible candidate will have a doctoral degree with training in behavioral medicine or health psychology.

REQUIREMENTS: (1) A doctoral degree (Ph.D. or Psy.D.) in psychology from an APA-approved program; (2) a clinical internship from an APA-approved site; and (3) interest and experience in working with a medical population. Postdoctoral training is preferred. The candidate should be license-eligible in the state of Missouri.

RESPONSIBILITIES: (1) Provision of clinical services for patients and families receiving care at the Siteman Cancer Center; (2) documentation of clinical contact with patients; (3) consultation to providers of medical and psychosocial services for patients;  (4) coverage of psychological services at a Siteman Cancer Center satellite clinic; (5) supervision of psychology trainees; (6) participation in education and outreach programs within or sponsored by the Siteman Cancer Center; and (7) participation in  independent or collaborative research.

The Siteman Counseling Service provides outpatient assessment and treatment, inpatient consultation, a variety of clinical services for individuals with cancer and/or their family members, as well as opportunities for research.
