Seeking Applicants for Several Positions at VA Connecticut Healthcare System (VA CT) with Emphasis in Eating and Weight

Seeking qualified candidates for several Postdoctoral Fellowship/entry-level psychologist positions. Employees will participate in treatment and non-treatment studies of Veterans with obesity and/or binge eating working closely with faculty and other trainees in the Veteran Initiative for Eating and Weight (The VIEW at VA CT) directed by Dr. Robin Masheb. Candidates must hold a doctoral degree in clinical or health psychology and have completed an APA-approved internship, and have clinical experience with obesity and/or eating disorders (in particular behavioral weight loss treatments and/or cognitive-behavioral therapies). Ideal candidates will have strong psychiatric assessment experience (including semi-structured diagnostic interviews), organizational and data management skills, statistical expertise, and peer-reviewed publication history.

All positions are full-time for a minimum of one year (two or more years preferred), meet requirements for psychology licensure, and are well-suited for persons pursuing either academic or clinical-research careers. Extensive mentorship opportunities exist for publication and grant-writing including preparation of Career Development Award applications. Positions are funded by the VA Advanced Fellowship in Health Services Research & Delivery (HSR&D) directed by Drs. Lori Bastian and Rani Hoff at VA CT, and by an HSR&D grant awarded to Dr. Masheb.

Assignments will be located at the Pain Research, Informatics, Multimorbidities and Education (PRIME) Center, which is affiliated with the Yale School of Medicine, and located at VA CT (West Haven and Newington sites). Directed by Dr. Bastian, the PRIME Center is one of 19 national VA HSR&D Centers of Innovation (COINs), with 15 junior and senior HSR&D-funded investigators and 10 Career Development Award (CDA) recipients.
