The one year full-time post-doctoral position adheres to a practitioner-scholar model and is designed to prepare clinical and counseling psychologists. The training philosophy and model is based on a supervised experiential approach for training in evidence-based clinical health psychology through relevant didactics, clinical observations, clinical supervision, and by training side-by-side with multidisciplinary learners including family medicine residents, psychiatry residents, graduate psychology students, and master in social work students. The post-doctorate will utilize a consultant model, in which the goal of patient visits is to augment the usual primary care by ensuring a well-rounded biopsychosocial treatment plan. They will also provide individual, group, and family interventions and work in close collaboration with primary care providers in a fast-paced multidisciplinary setting to develop a plan for the primary care provider.
