The Division of Health Psychology at the Institute of Living/Hartford Hospital is pleased to announce a position opening for a full time psychologist (PhD, PsyD) to support the Hartford Hospital Pain Management Program.

This thriving pain management practice in West Hartford, CT cares for over 3000 patients with multidisciplinary treatments including medications and interventional modalities, physical therapy and behavioral treatments.  Duties will include providing evidence-based psychological interventions (individual and group) to adults with chronic pain and comorbid psychosocial issues.

The psychologist will be involved in program development, as well as clinical and outcome research as desired by the practice.  Psychological evaluations of patients undergoing elective surgeries (i.e., spinal cord stimulators) will be an additional focus of practice.  Opportunities exist for clinical supervision of psychology and other trainees.

The preferred candidate will have experience in pain management and substance abuse, particularly opioid abuse. The position will be administratively housed at the Institute of Living, which offers rich and varied professional opportunities in a diverse community.  Spanish language proficiency is valued.
