It also is a nationally recognized Level 1 Trauma Center that operates a 465-bed acute care hospital with primary care and specialty clinics at the downtown location.
The Primary Care/Health Psychology Fellow works in one of our multiple primary care clinics. The Primary Care/Health Psychology Fellow is integrated in the primary care team and provides assessment, short-term psychotherapy for mild to moderate psychiatric disorders, and health behavior assessments and interventions (e.g., weight management, diabetes management, smoking cessation, etc.). They also frequently consult with primary care providers to help enhance the level of care patients receive during their primary care appointments. The Primary Care/Health Psychology Fellow also engages with medical specialty care clinics (e.g., Sleep Clinic and Bariatric Surgery Clinic) and does inpatient psychology consultations to the inpatient medical and psychiatric units. The Fellow may also be asked to assist in other clinics/services, depending upon clinical needs of the organization.
