The Hawai`i State Department of Health, Child and Adolescent Mental Health Division (CAMHD) in Partnership with the Western Interstate Commission on Higher Education (WICHE) is pleased to announce the availability of a new training opportunity for Post-Doctoral Clinical Psychologists at the East Hawai`i Family Guidance Center (FGC) beginning in the fall of 2017.
The trainee will work under the supervision of the lead psychologist at the FGC and will provide services including assessment, consultation and therapy to youth with severe emotional disturbances and their families in Hawaii’s public children’s mental health system.
This is a year-long, full-time training program, and there is potential to expand to two years if desired. The trainee will participate in a variety of training opportunities available within the division, and will be supported to attend two conferences on Oahu. There will be opportunity for the trainee to provide supervised clinical supervision to a pre-doctoral intern and to practicum students from the University of Hawai`i - Hilo.
The East Hawai`i FGC is located in Hilo on Hawai`i Island, and it is a training site for the Hawai`i Psychology Internship Consortium’s (HIPIC) APA-Accredited program. The trainee will be an employee of WICHE. The position will pay approximately $54,000/year and will include health insurance and other benefits. To qualify, applicants must have completed their doctoral degree in Clinical or Counseling Psychology within the last year, including a full-time pre-doctoral internship (APA approved training programs, preferred). Applicants who have completed all degree requirements but are not yet officially graduated are welcome to apply.
