Postdoctoral Fellow Position

General Area:  Social/Health Psychology

Specific Interest:  Adjustment to Chronic Illness, Couple Coping, Diabetes

The Gender, Relationships, and Health Lab at Carnegie Mellon University is looking for qualified post-doctoral applicants for a 12-month position starting as early as June 2018.  Under the direction of Dr. Vicki Helgeson, the lab is focused on how couples manage chronic illness—with a particular focus on type 1 and type 2 diabetes. 

Ideal candidates should have a strong background in social/health psychology or a related field and strong quantitative skills. A background in the area of diabetes is preferred but not necessary.  There will be opportunities to analyze data and prepare manuscripts for publication based on two large field studies of adults with diabetes, as well as opportunities to conduct research in the area of psychosocial factors and diabetes more broadly.
