VA Boston Psychology Postdoctoral Fellowship - Behavioral Medicine Track, 1 position available
The VA Boston Psychology Postdoctoral Fellowship in Behavioral Medicine is currently recruiting for an unanticipated opening of a Fellowship position that will begin in September of 2017 (or later by negotiation). This fellowship offers advanced training to prepare individuals for a career in Behavioral Medicine. Fellows will have the opportunity to provide a broad range of individual and group services to medical populations throughout the VA Boston Healthcare System. Treatment is geared toward helping patients cope effectively with major medical illnesses and invasive treatments, promoting healthy lifestyles and behavior change, encouraging treatment adherence, and enhancing overall quality of life. Fellows also have the opportunity to conduct pre-surgical and pre-treatment evaluations (e.g., transplant, bariatric surgery, hormone evaluations, etc.), and conduct assessments for chronic pain, sexual dysfunction, and general behavioral medicine intakes. The fellows will have the opportunity to work closely with staff from a variety of disciplines and will serve on several interdisciplinary teams throughout the healthcare system. They will develop expertise and confidence in presenting cases and leading team meetings. Finally, the fellows will gain experience in administration and program development, and will also have the opportunity to supervise trainees. Many opportunities exist for participating in ongoing collaborative research and scholarly writing.
