Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children (TSRHC) Sports Medicine Center is seeking a psychologist for an immediate opening to join our hospital-based psychology team. Licensed psychologist with expertise in pain management and pediatric psychology will participate in interdisciplinary health care delivery, training, and clinical research.
Pediatric Psychologist: Consultation/Liaison: Pain and Sport
Pediatric Sports Medicine and Orthopedics services are seeking a pediatric psychologist to work as part of an interdisciplinary team in busy ambulatory care clinics with children and adolescents presenting with: musculoskeletal pain; acute sport injuries, functional pain disorders. Psychologist will respond to crises in clinics, assist with challenging patients and families; evaluate potential barriers to treatment and co-morbid mental health symptoms; provide regular follow-up with patients as part of clinic appointments and facilitate appropriate community referrals. Experience with evaluation of associated mental health symptoms, consultation in ambulatory care clinics with medical teams; brief intervention for pain management and related anxiety; and ability to teach coping skills is preferred. A completed APA accredited internship, and fellowship in Pediatric Psychology is required, with skills in consultation, brief intervention, and pain management.
