In a recent study, researchers found that transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) can be used to reduce auditory verbal hallucinations (AVHs) in patients with schizophrenia by targeting a specific part of the brain in the temporal lobe.

According to Professor Sonai Dollfus from the University of Caen in France, "This is the first controlled trial to show an improvement in these patients by targeting a specific area of the brain and using high-frequency TMS."
