*Focus on Clinical Health Psychology and General Hospital Practice: Fellows are involved in diverse professional activities including assessing patients undergoing evaluation for spinal column stimulators/ bariatric surgery/genetic testing and treatments for a wide range of injuries/illnesses including burns, cardiovascular diseases, cancer, etc. Fellows conduct testing and evaluation with complex differential diagnoses cases and evaluate capacity to make medical decisions. They collaborate with multidisciplinary teams providing acute and post-acute care. Fellows also maintain an outpatient psychotherapy caseload and participate in administrative meetings/activities.
*Research: Fellows have the opportunity to pursue research interests relevant to the populations they are involved with, including collaboration with medical residents and faculty within the medical center and affiliated teaching institutions.
*Conferences, Teaching and other Career Enhancing Educational Opportunities: Fellows attend monthly Grand Rounds with visiting professors and workshops within the institution and at affiliated universities/hospitals. They assist in teaching doctoral level practicum students and provide educational presentations at support groups, etc. Fellows are encouraged to develop understanding of the practical aspects of professional practice such as coding, billing, etc.
