Pediatric Psychologist

Metropolitan Pediatrics, a 5 Star designated Medical Home serving Portland and surrounding communities, is seeking a passionate and enthusiastic pediatric behavioral health provider for our growing organization. With four current locations and the addition of 2 more in 2019, our team features over 30 medical providers, 4 psychologists, and 4 social workers in tandem with a staff of more than 150 support team members. We stand dedicated to providing patient and family-centered care in alignment with the Bright Futures delivery model inclusive of integrated behavioral health services. Our practice is open 7 days a week, providing after-hours assistance and extended access opportunities in a way that best serves active families who want the best possible care for kids!

The Pediatric Behavioral Health Provider is a member of the Metropolitan Pediatrics clinic staff working in tandem with the clinic Medical Home care team.

  • This critical role has diverse responsibilities, duties and expectations, which may include:
    • Identify and assess behavioral health needs as part of a primary care team.
    • Engage and activate patients and families in their care.
    • Work as a primary care team member to create and implement care plans that address behavioral health factors.
    • Help observe and improve care team function and relationships.
    • Communicate effectively with other providers, staff and patients
    • Provide efficient and effective care delivery that meets the needs of the population of the primary care setting.
    • Provide culturally responsible, whole person and family-oriented care.
    • Understand, value and adapt to the diverse professional cultures of an integrated care team.
    • Provide timely behavioral health care coordination through direct contact with patients and their families.
    • Process and track referrals and prior authorizations
    • Provide patient, parent and team education and community outreach
  • Contribute to ongoing program development and outcome research.
  • Assist in practice improvement efforts through participation in committees and provider meetings

Qualifications for this position include:

  • Current licensure as a Clinical Psychologist in the state of Oregon required.
  • 1-3 years experience in a clinical setting required with a preference for integrative care environments. Transferable experience considered.
  • Knowledge and understanding of community resources and effectively accessing them.
  • Understanding of and experience working with Patient Centered Primary Care Home (PCPCH) standards preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office required.
  • Experience with electronic medical record use required; preference for experience using Epic.
  • Experience with interpretation of a variety of patient population reports.

Our administrative office is located in Beaverton, OR, and shares space with the Beaverton clinic serving Beaverton, Hillsboro, Tigard, and surrounding communities. The Happy Valley Johnson Creek clinic is located just off of I-205 in Clackamas County serving the southeastern communities of Portland, Clackamas, Oregon City and Happy Valley. Our Gresham clinic is located on the campus of Legacy Mount Hood Medical Center, and provides robust pediatric services to the families of Gresham, Northeast Portland, Sandy, Troutdale and surrounding communities, and our Northwest Portland clinic is located on the campus of Legacy Good Samaritan Medical Center providing active pediatric coverage for central Portland and surrounding communities.
