The Division of Pediatric and Adult Medical Psychology at The Sandra and Malcolm Berman Brain & Spine Institute at LifeBridge Health is seeking a part-time Pain Management Health Psychologist (for adults) who has expertise in assessment and intervention (individual and group), to work at Sinai Hospital of Baltimore. Candidates will have obtained a doctorate in clinical psychology with a specialization in pain management health psychology and will have completed postdoctoral training in health psychology that complies with the training guidelines of Division 38 of the American Psychological Association (APA). Candidates must also be licensed/license eligible in the state of Maryland.

The health psychologist will be a leader within two multidisciplinary pain treatment programs, including a program designed for injured workers with low back pain (funded by a worker's compensation group) and a program for patients living with chronic pain. Both programs are run by a multi-disciplinary team of providers, including physiatrists, physical therapists, occupational therapists, and a case manager. The health psychologist will provide individual assessments, develop individualized treatment plans, conduct health and behavior interventions for individuals and treatment groups, and consult with the team on behavioral pain management strategies. In addition to participating in the multidisciplinary programs, the health psychologist will treat other medical outpatients (individual and group) referred by physiatrists, neurologists, neurosurgeons, and neuropsychologists.

The incumbent is also expected to be an active leader in program development. The position includes opportunities for research collaboration, and academic productivity is encouraged and supported. The incumbent will supervise doctoral psychology students and assist in supervising neuropsychology students. The planned start date for this position is April 1 but it is negotiable.

The Division of Pediatric and Adult Medical Psychology is an integral part of the Sandra and Malcolm Berman Brain & Spine Institute, which encompasses neurology, neurosurgery, and physical medicine & rehabilitation.
