Announcing Three Psychologist Positions at Northwell Health

Northwell CBT (2 positions)

We are seeking applicants to fill two clinical psychologist positions at a new practice within the Northwell Health system. Northwell CBT is an insurance-taking outpatient practice intended to provide high quality cognitive behavioral therapy for individuals in the Queens and Nassau County areas. Candidates should have training and expertise in the provision of CBT for adults with anxiety, depression, and related disorders. Experience with DBT and/or with children and adolescents is a plus, as is interest or experience with digital behavioral health interventions. This is an excellent position for an early career psychologist interested in evidence-based psychotherapies and willing to devote time, energy, and ideas to a new practice. Our intention is to build an enthusiastic and collaborative treatment team who are passionate about providing high quality CBT and related psychotherapies. The position is 18.75 hours/week (50% time) with competitive salary and full benefits. The practice will operate on evenings and weekends, but during these times hours will be flexible. Medical school appointment is available, as well as opportunities for developing groups, conducting research, teaching, supervision and professional development dependent on the interests and motivations of the candidate.

The position has the following requirements:

  • PhD or PsyD in clinical psychology from an APA or PCSAS accredited graduate program
  • Documented training in cognitive behavioral therapy at the graduate or post-doctoral level
  • Currently licensed to practice psychology in the State of New York, or license pending
  • Able to work evenings and weekends

Northwell Health OCD Center (1 position)

We are seeking applicants for a full-time clinical psychologist position in the Northwell Health OCD Center. The Center, located on the campus of the Zucker Hillside Hospital/LIJ Medical Center in Queens, NY, offers evidence-based, comprehensive outpatient treatment for adolescents/adults with a primary diagnosis of obsessive compulsive disorder or a related condition. It is one of the only specialized OCD facilities in the New York metropolitan area to accept most health insurance plans. Treatment options include individual and group therapy, as well as medication management. The Center adheres to evidence-based practices, including the use of structured interviews, routine outcome monitoring, and up-to-date treatment protocols. Candidates should have training and experience in the provision of cognitive behavioral therapy, specifically exposure and response prevention. The position includes ongoing specialized training and support from Dr. Anthony Pinto, an internationally-recognized expert in OCD, body dysmorphic disorder, clinical perfectionism, and obsessive compulsive personality disorder.
