The Washington D.C. VA Medical Center seeks a full-time, licensed Psychologist to work in its Outpatient Trauma Services Program. The Psychologist will collaborate with other healthcare providers, both within the team and across the hospital system, to provide treatment to adult Military Veterans and Active Duty Service Members who have experienced PTSD or other trauma-related difficulties. Duties will include direct delivery of clinical services in individual, group, and family therapy, therapy delivered via telehealth, as well as assessment and measurement-based care. Our clinical services are provided within a recovery framework and emphasize a whole-health approach to treatment, built upon a foundation of evidence-based practice and trauma-informed care. Within this framework, our focus extends beyond mere symptom reduction to also include improved overall quality of life and wellness for our Veterans and their families.
About the Trauma Services Program (TSP): The TSP is composed of over a dozen full-time clinicians representing multiple mental health disciplines (psychology, social work, nursing, peer support), as well as graduate and post-graduate trainees, and support staff. Board licensed Clinical Psychologist from any state
We are seeking a licensed psychologist with experience treating individuals with trauma and ideally who has experience working with individuals who are veterans or active duty military members. We would also ideally like a clinician with at least 2 years of clinical experience post graduate school.

Federal Retirement Plan:
VA employees are covered by the Federal Employees Retirement System (FERS). FERS is a three-tiered retirement plan composed of 1) Social Security benefits; 2) FERS basic benefits (pension); and 3) Thrift Savings Plan (TSP) which is a 401K-type plan. The Federal Government also provides an automatic basic contribution (1% of salary) and up to 4% of salary in matching contributions, depending on the amount of the employee contribution. For retired military personnel, these benefits are in addition to full monthly retirement pay or pension.
In addition to FERS, VA provides health care insurance coverage for retired personnel.
Employees are vested in a federal pension after only 5 years’ service.
