Oak Park Behavioral Medicine LLC is pleased to announce an opening for a Clinical Health Psychologist within our expanding private practice in Oak Park and Evanston IL.

Job Description:

We are seeking applicants for a part-time (average 10 clients per week), independent contractor or independent contractor-to-hire, clinical health psychologist or Clinical Social Worker to treat weight loss patients as part of an integrated medical weight loss program in Naperville Illinois. Oak Park Behavioral Medicine is a private group practice specializing in the psychosocial issues of patients living with chronic medical illness, so opportunities to work with other conditions are available as well.

Responsibilities for the position include providing outpatient psychological assessment and intervention for adult clients participating in a medically directed weight loss program. The behavioral portion of the program involves an initial assessment followed by 4 or 8 weekly tele-mental health sessions to treat the behavioral aspects of obesity in conjunction with a physician directed dietary intervention.  If interested, additional adolescent and adult psychotherapy with patients living with chronic medical illnesses are available. We are seeking candidates who are independent, highly motivated, and have strong clinical and interpersonal skills.

Due to demand and wanting to address the referrals who are waiting, we would like to hire in a timely manner. The start date is negotiable, but could be immediate if the appropriate candidate is found. The position comes with a competitive salary commensurate with experience. Initial compensation will be via 1099/independent contractor status until a minimum caseload is met to support a salaried position. Candidates must be willing to work one day per week in Naperville Illinois (location of the medical practice) and become credentialed with several insurance panels.

Candidates must have a Master’s degree, Ph.D. or Psy.D. in Clinical or Counseling Psychology and be licensed in Illinois. Clinical training in cognitive-behavioral therapy and experience working weight loss patients is required. Experience working with patients with chronic medical illness is preferred. CVs will be accepted until a suitable candidate is found.
