The presenters will share current information about refugee arrivals in the US and refugee mental health needs and best practices. They will discuss how host communities/service providers need to take trauma and loss into consideration as they support refugees. Presenters will discuss refugee core stressors and highlight the importance of creating trauma-informed, culturally accessible services. Additionally, they will utilize Trauma Systems Therapy for Refugees (TST-R) as an example of an intervention specifically tailored to address the needs of refugees. JUNE 20, 2017, 12:00-1:30 PM ET.
This innovative hands-on program is comprised of 8 pre-workshop e-learning webinars (to be completed prior to the workshop), a 2-day skills based workshop, 4 post-workshop e-learning webinars, 8 post-workshop faculty-trainee conference calls and a web-based Discussion Board.
