The Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW) has an outstanding opportunity for a Clinical Psychologist, Division of Surgical Oncology in the Department of Surgery. The psychologist will provide assessment and treatment services for patients with a cancer diagnosis as part of the surgical oncology team. The practice will be located at Froedtert Hospital.

This is a new position that will primarily focus on outpatient care, with the potential for growth within the inpatient units. The clinical psychologist will generally practice in two outpatient settings : first, in the Froedtert Clinical Cancer Center as a member of the multidisciplinary surgical oncology team providing integrated care to newly diagnosed and pre-operative cancer patients alongside surgeons, advanced practice providers, dietitian and therapists. Additionally, to facilitate longer term care, the psychologist will also have her/his own outpatient clinic.

MCW is a private, national, freestanding medical school that is widely respected as an academically productive center for the education and training of physicians and scientists, development of graduate and undergraduate medical education programs, basic translational research initiatives, and excellence in multidisciplinary clinical programs. The Department of Surgery is comprised of 10 clinical divisions and a Division of Education and Division of Research. The Department has a significant number of clinical programs with a number of regional affiliations and practice locations outside of the metro Milwaukee area. There are 112 faculty (including 100 clinical faculty, four (4) or which are psychologists, and 12 basic science faculty). There are 60 trainees in the department's training programs which include two residencies and eight fellowship programs. Revenue for the 2017-2018 fiscal year was $89M.

Candidates will have a doctorate (PhD or PsyD) degree as a clinical or counseling psychologist with the doctoral degree completed from an APA accredited graduate program. One to two years of experience is preferred in health psychology, with a preference for experience with cancer psychology, critical care, and/or palliative care. Additional preferred skills include strong presentation, teaching, leadership and course development experience; effective interpersonal communication skills and research, publication and statistical data experience.

Current licensure, or license eligible, as a psychologist in the state of Wisconsin required. Must hold PhD or PsyD in Clinical or Counseling Psychology. An excellent compensation and recruitment package will be available for the faculty member.
