MorgansmallThe National Register is extremely pleased to announce the launch of the Internship Partnership Fund. This endowment, developed in collaboration with the American Psychological Foundation, will address the continuing gap between available accredited internship slots and eligible students applying for those positions. With the launch of this fundraising initiative, the National Register takes a leadership position in solving a major issue for the profession. While the internship gap has narrowed slightly in the past few years, this is largely not because new slots have been created, but because fewer students are applying. Moreover, slots in accredited internship programs continue to be in short supply, with the gap last year growing to an astonishing 1,500 students who failed to find accredited positions. The APF/NR Internship Partnership Fund will directly increase the number of available training positions for interns by providing funding to accredited training sites to accommodate additional interns.

This Fund was created with a gift of $100,000 from the National Register. The entire NR Board of Directors and I have contributed close to an additional $100,000 in cash and short term pledges. Fundraising efforts will be ongoing, and we hope to be able to fund internships at the beginning of 2017. The fund will be administered by the American Psychological Foundation, with all donations going directly to fund additional training positions.

Please help us fund new internship placements by contributing to this fund.

We need your immediate support in order to meaningfully and adequately address this issue. In order to reach as many accredited programs as possible and create the maximum impact, we are seeking to raise at least $500,000. One-time or recurring donations may be made by check or credit card, and a planned giving option is also available. All donations are fully tax deductible as provided by section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. A detailed description of the Internship Partnership Fund, along with the donation form, is available on our website. For any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact me at Morgan@nationalregister.org. We need your continued support to strengthen our training initiatives. Please give generously!
