Dr. Sammons oversees the management of all facets of the National Register of Health Service Psychologists and its Board of Directors. He takes part in the review and approval of credentialing applications to ensure that all applicants meet specific standards to become a member, oversees the Committee on Professional Practice and Ethics (COPPE), represents the organization at local and national psychology meetings and conventions, contributes to the National Register’s fundraising efforts, and acts as a contributor and editor of the Journal of Health Service Psychology and other publications and promotional materials. Dr. Sammons also plays an integral role as a liaison with related organizations and leaders in the profession, as well as seeking out partnering opportunities to continually develop the National Register’s impact in the psychology field.
Andrew assists the Executive Officer with all aspects of office management for the National Register of Health Service Psychologists. He manages relationships with affiliate organizations, oversees and contributes to outreach strategies for member and consumer communications, coordinates preparations for meetings with the Board of Directors, and is actively involved in the National Register’s fundraising efforts. Andrew also acts as a primary contact for licensure mobility to assist members and promote the Register’s mobility program to state and provincial licensing boards.
Amila works with the Executive Officer and Assistant Director to handle administrative duties for the National Register. She answers member questions regarding credential renewal and verification, communicates with scholarship applicants and awardees, and supports marketing outreach. Amila also processes requests for purchasing and updating member expanded profile pages.
Terry works with the Executive Officer and Assistant Director to develop the National Register’s member benefits and establish valuable communications with current and potential members. She oversees the continuing education program, licensure verification, member reinstatements and Emeritus status, and member outreach regarding maintaining the Health Service Psychologist credential. Terry is also the primary contact for placing an advertisement in the Journal of Health Service Psychology.
Chynere works with the communications staff to develop the National Register’s publications and promotional materials. She assists with the promotion of resourceful information to consumers and members through our websites and social media outlets.
Kim is the National Register’s primary point of contact for licensed psychologists applying for the HSP credential. She provides information and clarification on the criteria and guidelines for credentialing, maintenance of credential requirements, and application or reapplication procedures. Kim also has an essential role assisting applicants with initial file preparation, training program accreditation identification, and supervisor credentials verification.
Mary works with the communications staff to assist with administrative duties for the National Register. She supports marketing initiatives, processes credential renewals, and handles other Registrant requests and transactions.
Credential Review Coordinator
Laura is the National Register’s primary point of contact for doctoral students and postdoctoral trainees banking their credentials in preparation for the Health Service Psychologist credential. She oversees the credential review process as well as the licensure verification, hospital staff membership and international degree evaluation programs. Laura works with the Executive Officer and the Committee on Professional Practice and Ethics (COPPE) to enforce the “Guidelines Concerning Withdrawal of the National Register Credential Due to Professional Misconduct.” Laura also has an essential role performing education and training evaluations, helping students and trainees understand the credentialing process and providing credentialing status verification.
Catherine works with the Executive Officer and Assistant Director to develop and maintain the National Register’s websites: www.FindaPsychologist.org, www.NationalRegister.org, and www.NationalRegisterPro.org. She oversees the promotion of resourceful information to consumers and members through these sites and associated social media outlets. Catherine also manages article contributions to www.FindaPsychologist.org from National Register members and applicants.
Senior Professional Consultant
Dr. Gary R. VandenBos serves as the Managing Editor of the Journal of Health Service Psychology, working with authors in developing translational clinical manuscripts that address everyday clinical practice challenges. He serves in a variety of content expertise roles in National Register activities. He is involving in the planning and development of the National Register webinar series and the National Register podcast program. He consults on an array of public policy initiatives in psychology related to professional practice.
