The National
Register of Health Service Providers in Psychology is a nonprofit
credentialing organization located in Washington, DC, consisting of
14,000 licensed psychologists. Following the horrific attack on September
11, the National Register sent an email asking its credentialed psychologists
to donate a small amount of their time to offer psychological services
to the survivors, the families, and those engaged in the search and
rescue operation.
Approximately 1,200 psychologists responded and are listed by geographic
location. Anticipating the widespread impact of the attack on America,
psychologists volunteered from the US, Canada, and other countries.Those
wanting to address the impact of this terrorist attack should contact
the psychologists by phone for victim assistance.
