The National Register helps doctoral students, interns, and postdoc trainees build and maintain a credentials profile that complies with national education and training standards, and positions them for the National Register HSP credential. This credentials banking program, called the National Psychologist Trainee Register (NPTR), helps eliminate the arduous task of ordering official transcripts and searching for past supervisors later on in their career.
The National Register, in conjunction with American Psychological Association of Graduate Students (APAGS), developed National Psychologist Trainee Register (NPTR) Credentialing Scholarships for doctoral students in psychology and postdocs who are interested in banking their credentials with the National Register, but for whom the initial cost is a financial hurdle.
These scholarships cover the $300 credentials banking fee (to include the doctoral degree, internship, postdoctoral supervised experience) and registration fee to activate the recipients NRHSP credential as soon as they are licensed.
Credentialing scholarships are supported by donations to the National Register Scholarship Funds. We appreciate the generosity of all of the donors.
Do you qualify?
To be eligible for this scholarship, candidates must be enrolled in or have completed an APA/CPA accredited or ASPPB/National Register Designated doctoral program (see the list), and must be pre-licensure. If you are already licensed, you should apply for an Early Career Psychologist Credentialing Scholarship.
