Biographical Information: George Stricker is Professor of Psychology at Argosy
University, Arlington, VA, after having retired from
being Distinguished Research Professor of Psychology
in the Derner Institute, Adelphi University, New York.
His principal interests are psychotherapy integration,
clinical training, ethics, and research in grandparenting.
He received a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology at the
University of Rochester in 1960 and an honorary Psy.D.
from the Illinois School of Professional Psychology,
Meadows Campus, in 1997. Dr. Stricker is an ABPP Diplomate
in Clinical Psychology and was elected as a Distinguished
Practitioner in Psychology. He has received numerous
awards and served as President of almost every notable
organization in psychology. He was on the Board of
Directors of the National Register of Health Service
Providers in Psychology, and the New York State Board
for Psychology and has served on numerous APA Boards
and Committees, including the Board of Educational
Affairs and as Chair of the APA Ethics Committee.
Dr. Stricker is the author or editor of about 20 books,
about 30 book chapters, and more than 100 journal
articles.
