National Register Standards


The National Register of Health Service Providers in Psychology conducts primary source verification of the education and training at the time of application, and verifies specialty board certification at least annually with the applicable specialty board.

To qualify for the National Register Health Service Provider in Psychology credential, a psychologist must:

  • submit an official transcript documenting a doctoral degree in psychology from an APA Accredited, CPA Accredited or ASPPB/National Register Designated Doctoral Program in Psychology

 


  • submit confirmation forms signed by his/her training director/supervisor documenting completion of one year (minimum of 1500 hours) of supervised internship experience in health services

  • submit confirmation forms signed by his/her supervisor documenting completion one year (minimum of 1500 hours) of supervised postdoctoral experience in health services

  • submit proof of an active, unrestricted license*

  • have no history of disciplinary actions.*

* Qualifications are verified at time of application and monitored as long as the psychologist holds a current National Register of Health Service Provider in Psychology credential.
