Verifications
to Health Care Organizations
Health care organizations use the National Register Find a Psychologist database to verify that psychologists meet the education and training requirements to qualify for reimbursement or to be included in a provider network, and hold a current, active license to practice psychology.
The Find a Psychologist (FAP) database is accurate, reliable, and always accessible. Subscribing healthcare organizations using the database will conform to NCQA credentials verification standards.
Large organizations, such as Magellan, Wellpoint Inc. and Kaiser Permanente, use the Find a Psychologist Database to verify thousands of Registrant credentials. Smaller organizations, such as Nursing Home Psychological Services, use the FAP to build efficient local networks populated by qualified psychologists.
Statement on Primary Source Verification
The National Register collects primary source documentation to verify doctoral degree, internship and postdoctoral supervised experience at the time of application, and verifies license information of each psychologist twice annually.
