Verifications
to Licensing Boards
The National
Register streamlines licensure mobility by verifying
education and training on behalf of Registrants.
The state/provincial/territorial requirements
may still include taking an oral or jurisprudence
exam, but the endorsement of credentials saves
time and effort, and reduces frustration by
eliminating the need to order transcripts and
locate past training supervisors. To view the jurisdictions that
use the National Register credential to streamline
licensure, go to http://www.nationalregister.org/mobility.html.
Verifications
to Health Care Organizations
Health care organizations
traditionally used the National Register publication
as a mechanism to verify that a psychologist
has met the education and training requirements
necessary to qualify for reimbursement or to
be included in a provider network. Today, health
care organizations query the Find
a Psychologist database. The transition
from the book to Find a Psychologist increased accuracy;
while the National Register was updated yearly, Find a Psychologist is updated nightly. Increased accuracy,
reliability, and 24/7 access enable subscribing
organizations to conform to NCQA credentials
verification standards. Large organizations,
such as Magellan, use www.findapsychologist.org to verify thousands
of Registrant credentials. Smaller organizations,
such as Nursing Home Psychological Services,
use Find a Psychologist to build efficient local networks
populated by qualified psychologists.
Verification
Record for Registrants
One of the improvements
on the new web site is a comprehensive report
displaying all verifications since the inception
of our online database in 1998. To view your personalized
verification report,.
go to https://www.nationalregister.com/Registrants and log in to your Registrant account. Included in your personal verification report
is a detailed summary of the:

Many licensing
boards and health care organizations base
their credentialing standards on the National
Register HSPP credential. Our goal is to fully
integrate the credential into health care credentialing
standards and licensing regulations, allowing
Registrants to simply point to the OSD when
asked for verification of education and training.
