ASPPB/National Register Designation Committee

Designated Postdoctoral Programs in Psychopharmacology

The Association of State and Provincial Psychology Boards (ASPPB) and the National Register of Health Service Providers in Psychology (National Register) have adopted the ASPPB/National Register Criteria for Defining a Designated Postdoctoral Program in Psychopharmacology as revised and posted on this web page on October 21, 2005. Thus, the ASPPB/National Register Designation Committee is ready to review applications by postdoctoral training programs in psychopharmacology.

ASPPB and the National Register are aware that the American Psychological Association (APA) recently proposed that the Board of Educational Affairs (BEA) and Committee for the Advancement of Professional Practice (CAPP) form a joint task force on the review of the 1996 APA Recommended Postdoctoral Training in Psychopharmacology for Prescription Privileges. Both the ASPPB and National Register look forward to the outcome of that joint task force and continued collaboration with CAPP and BEA on this important issue.
