About Me

Dr. Ruzicka is a clinical neuropsychologist who consults with parents, families, physicians, schools, and individuals in order to help answer questions that have been raised about an individual's functioning with regard to school performance, learning, behavior, social skills, developmental disorders, need for services and treatment, and/or appropriate accommodations for tests or for other needs in school or the workplace.

The neuropsychological assessment that she conducts is multidimensional. In order to determine how to assist a client she begins by interviewing the client and taking a complete history, including gathering information from others who know the client well and, when working with a school child, sometimes observing the student in the classroom. Then she conducts a thorough assessment of abilities using a variety of neuropsychological and educational tests to identify the client's areas of strength and weakness, using the results to understand the individual's needs and properly diagnose any learning disabilities or other impairments. She then creates a treatment plan tailored to the individual's specific needs. Such treatment might include cognitive rehabilitation, behavior management, psychotherapy, speech therapy, occupational therapy, or assistance by a learning specialist. Finally, she prepare a written report and discusses all findings and recommendations with the client.

Dr. Ruzicka also provides psychotherapy for individuals who have personal concerns or who have addictions as she has held credentials as a certified alcohol and drug counselor with CAADAC and NAADAC.

Why Choose a National Register Psychologist?
The National Register is the largest credentialing organization for psychologists. The independent, non-profit organization was created in 1974 with the help of the American Psychological Association and the American Board of Professional Psychology. Today, the National Register is the leading source of information on nationally credentialed psychologists in health care. Psychologists who are awarded national Registrant status have achieved the highest educational and professional standards in health care. It is the only independent, credentialing body with a national level standard for verifying education and training qualifications, licensing, and ethical standards with more than 11,000 doctoral level psychologists in its database.
